Lots of talk about the timing of Senator McCain's VP choice. I am definitely in favor of sooner, rather than later--but only if it is a good choice.
I love Bobby Jindal of Louisiana. But if you seek to undercut Senator Obama by pointing to his "inexperience", bringing a 37 year old forward as your VP simply doesn't make sense (though he is significantly more accomplished than Obama).
Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota is interesting, but he's just not going to excite anyone.
Mitt Romney is the choice. Pure and simple.

I agree, Jindal needs a bit more seasoning. I think Louisiana needs him more at this point anyway.
I was never a big Romney fan for much the same reason I dislike Obama - they both have more positions than the Kama Sutra.
Yes, Romney is intelligent, quick witted and a good businessman. But he ran a lousy campaign (however, the one thing I DO like about him is that he isn't afraid to go negative - unlike McCain).
Choosing Romney, while it may appear to be the safe choice, is like picking the tallest midget. Overall, I was disappointed with the field of Republicans this year (would have loved to have seen Thompson step up but it was not to be).
Going negative is absolutely required in this campaign. Romney will do it with style.
