Romney is the Man

Mitt just reclassified a $45M loan to his campaign as a "gift", thereby ensuring that he won't compete with John McCain for precious Republican political dollars this election season. This is a generous decision, one that I think will further solidify his standing as the leading VP choice for Senator McCain.

When Senator McCain announces Romney as his pick, he should then and there charge him with direct, continuing and close oversight of the nation's economy. I think this would shore up some of Senator McCain's weakness on economic issues. Starting with Al Gore and continuing with Dick Cheyney, the VP job has become more important. Mitt Romney can take it to even higher levels.

You are so right on it's frightening. Leaving the 'but he brings no states' argument aside, this man and his economic gifts have got to make Americans breathe a sigh of relief. With neither McCain nor Obama in possession of any skills in that arena, McCain can really jump out in front of the issue with the selection of Romney.
