Brooks on Obama

I can't say I disagree with David Brooks' view of Barack Obama. During the liveblog the other night, I stated twice that Senator Obama looked and sounded more Presidential. I sat there (like Brooks did in his column) actually trying to imagine these two men BEING the President, sitting down with a head of state with whom he did not see eye to eye. It was not a good exercise for my support of Senator McCain.

We had many presidents who were famous for their bad tempers Washington, Truman,Nixon, Johnson, among others who were still good presidents. It was the advent of the television age that made appearances more important than substance.
