It's Over; Time to Shore Up the Senate

Barring any "October Surprise", I believe the Presidential race is essentially over. John McCain does a much better job of drawing distinctions between himself and his party than he does with his opponent. His failure to link Senator Obama with Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi last night was simply inexcusable. To those teetering on the fence right now, the divided government argument would likely prove as effective a line as any. He is not making this argument, and it is hurting his campaign.

The magic number now is 41; Republicans MUST maintain 41 seats in the Senate to obstruct the Obama, Pelosi, Reid long march to socialism.

BTW, those of us who do budget submissions took this potential outcome very seriously when we drafted the 10-15 POM.
