Thanks to the hearty band of bloggers who joined me for the live blog last night. This was by far, the most interesting of the Presidential debates, and in my opinion, the one in which Senator McCain fared best.
That said (and as I said last night), only one of the two men looked and sounded Presidential, and it was not Senator McCain. Discussing the debate with The Kitten last night, she said that Barack Obama's answers sounded like those of a man who had already determined that he was going to win, and that he strove for a level of civility and responsibility that would be required of someone who was going to actually have to govern this country when the election was over. I could not disagree.

WHAT SENATOR MCCAIN SHOULD HAVE SAID
McCain: Senator Obama your plans to help America by taxing small business’ and by giving 95% of taxpayers a tax cut when 45% do not presently pay any taxes demonstrates “BAD JUDGEMENT”.
BAD JUDGEMENT, the same kind of BAD JUDGEMENT that you displayed when Reverend Wright told you that you would be well advised to distance yourself from him if you were successful in the primaries. You agreed with him yet you did not do so until it became a political embarrassment. That showed “BAD JUDGEMENT”.
BAD JUDGEMENT, the same kind of BAD JUDGEMENT that you displayed by associating with a convicted felon Tony Rezco.
BAD JUDGEMENT, the same kind of BAD JUDGEMENT that you displayed by associating with an admitted terrorist whose only regret is that he did not bomb more convicted felon Tony Rezco.
BAD JUDGEMENT, the same kind of BAD JUDGEMENT that you displayed by voting present rather than taking a stand on issues.
Senator Obama, time, and time, and time, again you have displayed BAD JUDGEMENT.
BAD JUDGEMENT is BAD JUDGEMENT, no matter who is making the decision. If these type decisions were made by an Asian, a Hispanic, a Caucasian or an Arab they would still be considered “BAD JUDGEMENT”. Because BAD JUDGEMENT knows no race.
Senator Obama, you seem to be a well educated man, so your BAD JUDGEMENT can only be attributed to your lack of experience.
When you consistently display BAD JUDGEMENT in making the relatively easy decisions of life how can you seriously expect the American people to trust you with the most important office in the land? If the American voter did so, it would be “BAD JUDGEMENT on the part of the American voter.
