Socialist Equals Black?
Unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable. There is a deep and wide stream of offense and victimology in Black America, but this one takes the cake. It seems an editorial page writer at the Kansas City Star has accused the McCain/Palin campaign of racism in describing Obama's domestic policies as "socialist". Yes, that must be it. Clearly it is hatred of black people--nothing at all to do with collectivism, distribution of wealth, government sponsored health care and the like.

So let us now refer to his domestic policies as "government looting".
Why do people assume that "code words" are required when referring to black people?
There are only two kinds of people in the world. Honest, hard working intelligent people and dishonest, lazy, stupid people. And, these two types transcend all races and genders. Are we to be led to believe that any words spoken or written in opposition to any black person's ideology are to be viewed as code words for black?
cw - not just the kc star. cnn was espousing similar views today. to smoothfur, how many times have you heard a white person whisper "that black man over there" or something similar when drawing your attention to a person in a group. it's as if to even acknowledge a distinguishing feature such as skin color is in and of itself racist. we have allowed ourselves to become so overly conditioned to fear being accused of being racist that we hush ourselves when we say the exact equivalent of "that redhead over there" or "that tall guy over there". it is not at all surprising (to me at least) that we so readily permit such utter crap to gain resonance at a national level.
