VP Debate Moderator

Down in the David Brooks post, one of the gang asks my thoughts on the fact that Gwen Ifill is going to moderate the Vice Presidential debate tomorrow night.

Seems ole Gwen's got a book due to come out (on Inauguration Day, no less) that details the rise of black politicians in America, keying in on....Barack Obama. There are questions as to whether or not she is in the tank for Obama, and whether she can be counted on to be fair.

Well, these are two entirely different questions. Firstly, OF COURSE she is in the tank for Barack Obama. She's a reporter. She's black. She's a woman. Honestly, do you think there are 1o other black female reporters in the entire country who would vote for McCain?

As to whether she can be fair, OF COURSE she can.
