When we walk away as in Egypt, there are repercussions with other Middle East governments, who thought we were their friends.Bryanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04449961206943205940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8591018003444406729.post-57461627102086886712011-03-15T20:09:22.514-04:002011-03-15T20:09:22.514-04:00Excellent question, and a good example of where US...Excellent question, and a good example of where US national interests ARE at stake. Putting aside the fact that we have a naval base there, what is going on is a straight up proxy war between Saudi Arabia and Iran, and we have a serious dog in that fight. So if it comes down to it, yes we intervene in Bahrain. The Conservative Wahoohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17818674434286683162noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8591018003444406729.post-42118302955374917522011-03-15T19:51:20.933-04:002011-03-15T19:51:20.933-04:00What about Bahrain? What about Bahrain?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8591018003444406729.post-89257094817909308172011-03-15T08:07:20.285-04:002011-03-15T08:07:20.285-04:00Your comment about the no-fly zone is pertinent. ...Your comment about the no-fly zone is pertinent. Many of the very dems who denounced our foray into Iraq conveniently forget that we were paying for and putting at risk our air crews every day for ten years to support a no-fly zone there. My response to those libs who ask why not a NFZ over Libya is "because you got SO upset when we did that in Iraq and you know how much I hate to upset liberals.". Wait a minute? Maybe there IS a national interest after all.Mudgehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10106218895150473141noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8591018003444406729.post-11384465226319042592011-03-14T12:43:45.268-04:002011-03-14T12:43:45.268-04:00Once upon a time we could have handled this covert...Once upon a time we could have handled this covertly, no fuss no muss. Gha-dickhead would be worm food, a better looking more personable Colonel would be in charge, the Libyans would be better off and everybody would be happy.<br />But oh no, we can't have that. We'd rather have some camel jockey in an old MIG 23 strafing civilians in the streets. Oh yeah, that works much better."The Hammer"https://www.blogger.com/profile/16342812251947807673noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8591018003444406729.post-68532040929121212322011-03-14T12:20:27.316-04:002011-03-14T12:20:27.316-04:00I would add our involvement with Israel as a 3rd a...I would add our involvement with Israel as a 3rd adventure.BigFrednoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8591018003444406729.post-4008704985963860422011-03-14T10:32:33.827-04:002011-03-14T10:32:33.827-04:00This is a no-brainer summed up in its last line, &...This is a no-brainer summed up in its last line, "We are far too overstretched . .
