Being retired for quite a number of years I watch a great deal of television and it's a damn shame the clutter one has to put up with to watch a half hour news broadcast. Woops, did I say "half hour", I mean eighteen news minutes. Yes eighteen minutes, I put a stop watch on Diane Sawyer three nights. To begin with the "program" lasts only twenty seven minutes They close three minutes before the hour to allow for three additional minutes of commercials and station announcements. Of these twenty seven "news" minutes, nine minutes are used for commercials and local station announcements. Now the SOB's have most commercial time syncronized so if one punches the remote to rid a commercial break, chances are a new station is enjoying their commercial time. Does anyone have any ideas how to rid us of this uncontroled situation we are all paying for with satellite or cable TV service.Uncle Willienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8591018003444406729.post-84822874358969582382013-03-08T09:32:31.265-05:002013-03-08T09:32:31.265-05:00I woke up this morning to the devastating news tha...I woke up this morning to the devastating news that Joy Behar is leaving "The View". After much weeping and gnashing of teeth, I realized this was part of the dialectic and within ourselves we bear the seeds of our own demise. I take solace in the old proverb "Say not in grief that she is no more, but live in thankfulness that she was". <br />How ironic the cruel twist of fate. But in these days of tribulation; grief and helplessness are rife. I will be ok, but Joy if you're listening, where ever you may be, my heart be there also. Bonne chance mon amour."The Hammer"https://www.blogger.com/profile/16342812251947807673noreply@blogger.com
