Joe Lieberman to Attend Re-education Camp; Will Be Rehabilitated
I love the tone of this story...makes me think of the glory days of Stalinism. I'd almost expect to see Lieberman "disappeared" and brought back again after an appropriate public statement of contrition.
I wish he would tell the Dems to f*$% off. Isn't he the guy the Dems turned their back on in the first place? And his cardinal sin was supporting the man he thought was best for the job? I know you're no Lieberman fan, Bryan, but I wish we had more principled men like this in Washington. I guess this is our first glimpse of the post-partisan Age of Obama. I'm underwhelmed.
This is still irritating me. I just love these claims that 'Lieberman crossed a line by criticizing Obama, claiming he wasn't ready.' Isn't that essentially what Biden said during the primary? And look at some of the criticism Hillary heaped on him. It would appear they've been forgiven.
I can't help but view the education camp references more in the spirit of the infamous Stalag 13 with Harry Reid as Col Klink and Nancy Pelosi as Sgt Shultz. Were they not such bumbling buffoons of majority leadership, I might share the concern of a well-led, deliberate march to socialism. These two couldn't coordinate a kindergarten field trip let alone a complete transformation (deformation) of the most powerful country on the planet. They need Lieberman more than he needs them. I agree, he should have told them to pack sand. By the way, heard a great quote yesterday from a senior intelligence official in DoD, talking about bringing change to various government agencies: "You can try to bring change to Washington, but it is akin to moving a cemetary. It can be done, but don't count on any help from the residents."

ReplyDeleteI'm a HUGE Lieberman fan, Sally; just not as VP. I think his treatment by the Dems is shameful.
