NFL Camps Open

Thank God. College ball can't be far behind.

  1. I guess that means Brett 'It's all about me' Favre will be making a decision one of these days. Sports fans out there: have you ever had to face a situation where a player you loathe is about to sign with your team? I may have to take a sabbatical from football this year.

  2. Sally, take a life-long sabbatical from professional football. SamShapiro years ago steered me towards the college game. I love it and haven't looked back.

Football? That ain't football. THIS (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_hqosNvv5E) is FOOTBALL.

And Sally, a sweet little sheila like you ought to really like our leg-showing shorts!

    G'day mates.

  4. Ahhhh, back in the day when ESPN was starting out and had no programing and they would show endless Rules Football games. Fun to watch.

Doc, I'm getting stoked for the season. Got my Temple tickets, a game this year at MD, one at Annapolis. No Rutgers this year...as of yet. I buried my OU National Championship hat as it has kept my Sooners from winning a BCS bowl. Oh yeah, ESPN game package needs to be ordered.

  5. C Dundee - yes, Footie is a great game. I too remember endless ESPN games of Aussie rules. Great stuff.

  6. Aaaahhhh, at last, football season and coverage of perhaps the only recession-proof industry. Researching FF draft picks now . . . had Jets' Favre last year and fortunate enough to have started him the only 3 weeks he produced, then like the Jets, dump and run. Wondering if I can stick with my "cute boy" strategy and take Tom Brady post-injury . . .

BTW, CW, are you hosting a companion FF/NFL blog? Is there a NJ team you follow (hehe), or have you been drinking the purple Ravens' kool-aid?

  7. CCE--you kill me.

    1. No FF blog for me, I'm still not a social outcast to the real world.

    2. Haven't embraced the Ravens--but then again, I haven't embraced any teams that joined the league after its formation--I still consider Tampa Bay and Seattle as illegitimate and the Indianapolis Colts as partially illegitimate.

    3. Tell me again where the "Dallas" Cowboys play football?

    4. If you'd like to whip up a little NFL/FF frenzy around here I will gladly invite you into the stable of contributors--you and Sally (two of my three female readers, by the way) could NFL/FF to your heart's content!
