  1. Had a scare yesterday morning when the wife got a call informing her that a mammogram performed earlier this week was "suspicious". Had a second mammogram by lunch time and all checked out OK. Would someone tell me how our health care system is "broken".

I will abmit though CW, that I like your take on separating health insurance from employment. I am considering another job option and that option might not have been available if I had the need to stay with my current employer becasue of health insurance issues.

  2. Anon--glad things worked out. At the end of the day, the insurance system must migrate to a system where the consumer is the customer. Taking employers out of the mix and having individuals purchase insurance directly (you don't lose car insurance when you lose your job) is the way to go. We'll see if it happens though....

Yes, I can imagine that some vulgar Republican bigot has sent you the link to the wonderful schoolchildren in New Jersey singing a delightful song in honor of our President, Barack Hussein Obama.

I'm sure what was lost on your racist friend was the harmony of the diverse student body, much like the school my own children attend. One with a $15,000/year tuiton that welcomes children of all colors of the rainbow (including gay and transgendered children), as long as their parent's money is green.

  4. Anytime I read the following statement or a variation thereof, I get incensed. We need to root these jerks out and squash them.

"American military and intelligence officials, who insisted on anonymity because they were discussing classified information...."

  5. From this morning's Politico, Democratic pollster Mark Penn on President Obama's media saturation...

"Just to put some of the numbers in perspective, Obama has logged 124 television interviews so far in his presidency, compared with about 40 interviews at this point for Bill Clinton or George W. Bush. And the television networks have been generous with their nightly news coverage of the president — in the first four months of the presidency, they gave him 28 hours, compared with eight hours for Bush in his first term."

124 interviews in eight months, yet does anyone really know just what he stands for?

  6. My father, WWII vet, long ago passed always said, "My country right or wrong, My country". His generation fought the war to end all wars. How very wrong. Since then: Korea-
    Vietnam-
    Bay of Pigs-
    Grenada-
    Panama-
    Gulf 1 -
    Bosnia-
    Afghanistan-
    Gulf 2 -
    Afghanistan again -
    and many skirmishes.

As Led Zepplin sang "the song remains the same" no matter who is in the White House and who controls congress.

Politics as defined by a 8 year old. Poli meaning more than 1, tics a blood sucking insect. This can't be good.

Fire em all and let's start over!

  7. Robert Thorne,
How can you possibly begrudge people the opportunity of showing off that 1.They are in the know on classified information and 2. That they obviously missed the class on OPSEC.

Some day I would love to see the recipient of the classified information blow the whistle on the "anonymous source". But that would require putting country ahead of a news scoop.

  8. What will happen when CW is no longer fat? Can we really continue to have the "Big Fat Friday Free for All"? Will a return to "Friday Free for All," as effectively stir us to post?

  9. Methinks the CW would make a great "Military Analyst" on the tv newsbox. Whyfore thou forestalleth it?

  10. TV analyst ??
Pompously pursing philtrums, proclaiming poorly pondered phony philosophical positions while pandering to the press.
