Here are some updated variants of the Conservative Wahoo. I'd be interested in your comments. But just so we're all straight on this, it is going to be a fish.
Concur with Doc. But that bulge on the upper left pectoral fin in 2might confuse readers into thinking you are a Naval Academy grad. Also, bowler or top hat? I'm kind of torn. The bowler reminds me of "Wimpy"--I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today--too reminiscent of the fiscal policies of this Congress and Administration.
I agree on # 3's outfit and fishface, but dislike the en pointe stance. And I lean towards a jaunty top hat (like the current topper), the bowler feels a bit declasse if you are going for that bit of old Virginia loftiness. Also, bowlers makes me think of very old toothless Peruvian women in ponchos. Must be too much time spent on my power trip as a waitress in the South American skies, tormenting poor suffering business[class]men with my draconian rules and regulations (Bah, Noo vodka for you -- I don't like your tie!) I think John Steed is the only man who can carry off a bowler with the charm and grace your site deserves.
Yes, of course it must be a fish! We are Wahoo.
Ah but Mudge, 86 on those hamburgers, they've been gobbled up by the previous administration, we're paying that $1.3 trillion tab right now. (you missed me, Mudge, go on, admit it, ok, now go ahead and sock it to me).
No, no socking it to you tonight, Ghostress. Already misfired on that nasty bait and switch someone did with your name earlier. And yes, I have missed you. Perhaps we can resume battle after Christmas...which I hope is a particularly joyful one for you and your family.
Just portray the fish having it's wallet stolen by a liberal Hokie and you'll have it covered. That is, if one can find a liberal at Virginia Tech... I understand that they have standards.
Stay the course. Unless there is some copyright infringement issue, stick with the current (and very dignified) logo. If "change" is inevitable (yes we can), I agree that the tophat and monocle should remain.
#3 with a bit more emphasis toward the old Revolutionary War era naval officers dress coat but keeping the top hat and monocle.
Or if as mentioned there is no copyright problem keep what you have now. The top hat, monocle coat and cane speak to the conservative and the fish to the Wahoo.
I'm leaning toward #3, though in a bit more of an aggressive stance.
ReplyDeleteThe #3 getup on fish #2. Fish #3 and #4 appear to be on their tippy toes!

ReplyDeleteIt still looks like a cross between the Incredible Mr. Limpett and the Planter's Peanut Man.

ReplyDeleteUse the one with the UVA logo, as if the thing ain't gay enough already.
