I was enthusiastic and excited about the naming of Michael Steele as the Chairman of the RNC. No more. It is time for him to go. Steele's turned into a promoter of....Michael Steele.....and not of the party.
His missteps just seem to mount. I find it incredible that the Chairman of the RNC--at this point in the run-up to the 2010 Congressional elections, is saying that the party can't retake majorities in 2010, and that he's only recently begun to look at the races.
I cans say we won't win back majorities--but he can't. He's got to push for it, he's got to be enthusiastic about it, he's got to inspire the ground troops.
It's time for him to go.
I heard Dick Morris on the radio yesterday and it's his opinion the Republicans have a realistic chance at 11-13 Senate seats this go 'round. According to Morris, the RNC is talking 5-6.
ReplyDelete5-6 will not get the job done. If we're to roll back some of this insane legislation we need a super-majority. Therefore we need a bulldog at the helm (we had Newt in '94). God love Michael Steele but that's not who he is.
then who?
ReplyDeleteAnd who is going to force the brotha out?
ReplyDeleteI believe Steele's departure is one of Sally's 2010 predictions...
ReplyDeleteMichelle Malkin for Chairman of RNC.
ReplyDeleteWe get to place check marks in the female, Asian and Afican American boxes as well as having a feisty articulate conservative.
I was really excited when Steele became the RNC Chairman. I thought he could handle it but he has been a big disappointment.
ReplyDeleteEd Gillespie should come back for another stint as Chairman. But though I want him gone too (every time he opens his mouth I'm afraid of what might come out), some of the stuff he's been talking about this week is actually pretty wise, e.g. the comment that taking back lots of seats without learning the lessons of the past isn't a victory if we just continue to do the same stuff as the last time we were in power.
ReplyDeleteIt's too bad - I had high hopes for the guy a year ago. You know, kind of like the high hopes Obama supporters had.
JMurr--you were right to be excited, and you are right to be disillusioned.
