Barack Obama will--in an effort to pivot a la Bill Clinton--name a new "Adviser to the President" who will be a name known and loved in some quarters of the Republican Party/Conservative circles. I don't yet know who this will be--but I do think it is coming.....
Nah, Barack's too much of an idealogue - Clinton was smarter in that regard. He'll seek to 'reconnect' by striking a more populist chord, and will go after the banksters.
ReplyDeleteDavid Gergen?
ReplyDeleteMy guess? David Brooks.
ReplyDeleteI think David Brooks stopped being loved in conservative circles some time ago.
ReplyDeleteI kinda still like him, every now and then....
ReplyDeletePat Buchanan?
ReplyDeleteGergen would most definitely do it for me.
ReplyDeleteGergen's reference in the MA Senate debate to the "Kennedy" seat (to which Brown had his famous "it's the people's seat retort") is referred to in Republican circles as the only time Gergen's ever done anything useful for a Republican....
ReplyDeleteThat question was like a hanging slider to the Mick in 1961. In his wildest dreams Brown couldn't have asked for a better question.
ReplyDeleteThat exchange may go down in history as the day the Kennedy dynasty finally and absolutely died.
