No weigh in today--I've been a bad, bad boy and I'd like to not have the weight of disappointment on me to start the day. So sue me.
What's on your mind, people? Tired of every lunatic who flies his plane into buildings being instantaneously attributed to the conservative movement? Wondering what Tiger's going to say today? Thoughts on the Olympic Games?
Unburden yourselves! Let the world know what's on your mind and use the CW as your amplifier!
I haven't been plugged in much this week because of, you guessed it...doing my taxes (in a perfect world I would pistol whip my accountant). So, I'm not really sure how much of the MSM is playing this dude who flew a plane into an IRS building. I heard on the radio the White House is saying it's too soon to tell if this is an act of "domestic terrorism". Thanks Mr. President, we appreciate your guidance on this issue.
ReplyDeletePoint being, I can understand the guy's frustration. I can't understand what he did just why he did it. I don't need to go into how our revenue generation is pure politics, you know all that. All I need say is we need to change it. That friends and neighbors is the change we must have. If you haven't already I urge you to have a look at the Fair Tax.
Out of respect for you CW, I shall not be posting my weekly weigh-in results on your blog.
ReplyDeleteI will, however, post it on your Facebook page. And my Facebook page. And Doc Milnamo's, and Mudge's, and Thairish's, and Hammer,s, and Mrs Goldwater's Ghost, and ...
Oh I almost forgot. An old college buddy of mine is trying to get a job and he'd appreciate your help. The guy's name is J.D. Hayworth late of the NCSU Political Science Department and Mitch's Tavern (Hillsborough St. just across from Patterson Hall). He has decided to run for the US Senate in the Great State of Arizona. Shoot him a few bucks why doncha? I forget who his opponent is so it must not be important.
ReplyDeleteLook, do this one for the school. The last two State grads to make a name for themselves were John Edwards and Robert Gibbs. We sorta need this one.
I'm looking for Tiger to come out today and say that they used to have hot monkey sex but after the kids, she was always too tired or didn't feel right or that the kids might hear them. He was just looking to get his groove hing going. I'm sure a lot of the male population can feel that pain.
ReplyDeleteKudos to the Richmond Times Dispatch for calling out Virginia Tech on their PC thought policing. I might have to go up the street and pop 75 cents for the paper today just to support the effort.
ReplyDeleteMy pointy headed professorial brother, CW classmate, and erstwhile retired Navy dude, says this stuff is rampant on all campuses. At faculty social functions he vacillates between keeping his thoughts to himself versus taking the bit in his teeth and telling the academic pukes what he really thinks. When he was recalled to active duty several years ago, his boss at (redacted) University asked him if he really intended to go....duh.
John--don't think we'd have to look too hard to find this sort of thing in the 22903 zip either....
ReplyDeleteToday is opening day for #2 ranked UVA Baseball. As they're playing at #11 ECU, they won't have to plow the field first. O'Connor's the real deal-these kids should do very well this year.
ReplyDeleteEven the Hammer should be able to pull for Virginia today....don't ECU and the Pack get along like camel spiders and scorpions?
CW, the home opener's next Wed at 1500. Get yer butt down here for beer and baseball. You can run yer intertunnel radio thingy live from the Virginian. Go Hoos!
$5 says Maddow connects Joe Stack to Sarah Palin and the Republican Party tonight.
ReplyDeleteGibbsie will declare the guy was inspired by listening to Beck and Limbaugh..Right Wing Domestic Terrorism.
Obama will claim it's Bush's fault. B+
East Carolina is a hop skip and a jump from my hometown. Not all but most of the college bound kids went to ECU and I've been to as many ECU football games as State. So apart from when we play 'em, I'll pulled for the Pirates. Let me tell you, they have (outside of U.Fla) the best looking college babes any where, bar none. At State we get those Duplin County farm girls with asses as wide as a F-150 4x4. Terrible it is.
ReplyDeleteSo UVA has a good baseball team eh? Have to keep my eye on 'em.
I'm daydreaming about hockey with carbines as an Olympic sport with the USA drawing Iran in the first round. I hope the Israelis fix bayonets for their game against Syria.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe I am alone in this BUT Tiger should just go play golf.
ReplyDeleteWomen demand the kind of skewering he is getting, I think most men understand.
Am I a minority?
thsntht - if those same women had demanded a similar standard for their precious uncle teddy, we would have had a kennedy free congress long before now. and of course, how many of those same "we demand an apology" women swoon over the spawn sprinklers in hollywood who make tiger look like a fuzzy little cub when it comes to mating season? look, tiger was an idiot for doing what he did and he should and will pay for his indiscretions and broken promises. but i'm with you when it comes to the lefteous indignation. if you weren't crying for teddy's, brad's or william jefferson's heads (cranial), then you don't get a voice in crying for tiger's. and enough with this "sex addict" bs. just man up, take your heat and get on with your profession.
ReplyDeleteWhat Mudge said, times two.
ReplyDelete"spawn sprinkler" heh heh....good one.
Looks like the gov't is considering a freeze on home foreclosures.
ReplyDeleteAnother step deeper into the "No Conscience, No Consequence" Zone.
I agree, sex addict my ass. A sex addict is like one of those sad bastards on Montel who pick up five women a day and then on the way home shoot a homeless broad 10 bucks for a quickie behind the check cashing joint.
ReplyDeleteTiger was just doing what a man does. At least Namath has the good sense not to get married back when he was banging everything on two legs. Tiger just got carried away. And some folks say -Gosh his wife is so hot, why would he do it? It's all about spreading the seed man, the old biological imperative. IT'S WHAT WE DO, given half a chance. Like the Spartans, I don't blame him for doing it (I'm actually amused) I blame him for getting caught. And I find his mea culpa hilarious because every man alive knows it 100% unadulterated BULLSHIT!
Lovely, Hammer. Just lovely. I'm actually nauseated.
ReplyDeleteHey I call 'em as I see 'em. If you're female you probably are disgusted by my honest and objective description of the male attitude towards sex. I don't know what to tell you. If you've got a problem with this particular reality you can take it up with Charles Darwin. If you've got a problem with me actually enunciating the obvious, then call the PC police...or Joy Behar.
ReplyDeleteHow 'bout it guys, anybody disagree?
Hammer--dude--paisan--goombah--doesn't matter how "right" you are--you CAN'T LET THE OTHER TEAM SEE THE PLAYBOOK!!!! Didn't you watch the Brady Bunch?
ReplyDeleteI know I know. I took a chance they weren't watching and I'm sorry. But maybe it's good they get to peak behind the curtain on occasion. But let's get real here, most know it already (the ones that don't are the really good catches, assuming they're also good looking). But we all know of women who won't let their husband go to a Safeway by himself for fear of him chatting up the check out girl.
ReplyDeleteOne of my indulgences is I like to flirt with waitresses (not in front of the wife, I ain't crazy). I don't know, it just warms the cockles of my heart to get a smile from a 22 year old hottie with a nice rack. But that's just me.
So behind on my blog-reading, but just had to respond to this one.
ReplyDeleteAm I the only woman in the US who thinks it was ridiculous for Tiger to apologize? What crime did he commit? Did someone die? Did he hurt a helpless dog? Did he do drugs? Whom did he harm besides his wife, kids and sponsors (and to whom he owed the apologies). What crazy parent STILL holds up sports figures as role models after Kobe, Wilt, or any other philandering athlete?
The women did not work for Tiger so there is no sexual harassment standard that could be implied either.
And given the sincerity of Tiger's apology, I think he agrees with me. My husband gets a kick out of telling his pals my thoughts on this one.
