Big Fat Friday Free For All

Nope. Not gonna do it. Not after this week. Not gonna get near a scale.

The good news though is that Brother Tom's down 20 pounds since Jan1.....good for him.

What's on your minds people? Life in the reign of Obama sometimes feel like a ride in a stuck gas pedal Toyota? Tired of having people question your blog habits? Unburden yourselves! Share your pain! This is the chance to be heard.

  1. I don't know if you noticed or not, but the Brooklyn D.A. decided there just wasn't enough evidence to prosecute ACORN or any of its scumbag employees. I'm referring to the hidden camera stings where some fat smores eating bitch advises two white kids how to break half the laws in the New York State Code. Coulter has a good piece on the subject if you care to look.

My complaint is this. Prosecutors are given too much leeway. A few years ago in Orange County (Chapel Hill) some idiot busts into his ex-girlfriends house and shoots her 3 year old, with a 357 magnum. Carl Fox the DA decided the death penalty wasn't appropriate for this crime. The jerk stood up in court shaking his head saying "women will drive you crazy, the things they make you do". If I'd have been there I'd have killed him myself.
The point being, the law is not a buffet line. Prosecutors are not there to prosecute only the laws they like or the people they don't like. The Brooklyn DA should be fired.

  2. Not discounting Hammer's argument, but on the other hand of prosecuting a company with scumbag employees...the U.S. government is still considering contracts with Blackwater.

  3. Not the same, not even close. Blackwater is (are?) hired killers. Very useful bunch if want professional mercenaries to do the job Americans just won't do. Ask France, they have the Foreign Legion.
Let me ask you, if you had to move around Iraq five years ago would you rather be escorted by a half dozen Blackwater guys or Pelosi's staff of Congressional dicksucks?
And don't give me that 'but they're violating everybody rights'. Were Blackwater's rights violated when they were hung up on a bridge and burned? Smarten up. Wars are ugly. Wars are violent. You cannot be less brutal than your adversary if you want to win. Our military did an amazing job limiting the brutality to combatants, and Blackwater was part of that. They deserve all the contract they can get.

  4. Yes, now that we've opened Pandora's box, I guess we'll have to live with the consequences. You are using strawman arguments by the way. There are many things that while useful, and effective, are wrong. I fear that we've begun down a path of outsourcing what SHOULD the province of sovereign states to a bunch of sociopaths.
Blackwater is NOT a part of our military even if many of the individuals formerly were.

  5. By virtue of the fact you call these guys sociopaths says it all. You might not like what they do (you know, win) but they're damned good and they try to come back alive. If you have a problem with Blackwater then by definition you've got a problem with the mission. Blackwater didn't create the mission. They were hired to do a job that for political or other reasons the American military wasn't suited to do. They did what they did at our request and on our behalf. Don't like it, take it up with the policy makers.

  6. Hammer, don't try to argue with anonymous trolls. The original argument about ACORNiehole and the D.A. has nothing to do with Blackwater.

Anon is probably the same twit that argued with me about frisk searching WASPie grannies at airports because, "Nuh uh, not all terrorists are muslim men...look at Timothy McVeigh." That's what you get from somebody whose primary news sources are All Things Considered, the DailyKos and Rachel Maddow.

Remember, it's hard to have a battle of wits with unarmed personnel.....and,

Smile more: it takes 34 distinct muscles to make a frowny face, but only one to pull the trigger on a finely tuned sniper rifle.

BTW, had to dump the John S handle....still me.

  7. Different twit. I've no illusions about the connection between terrorism and Islam. And Hammer, my bigger beef is with the policymakers to be sure.

  8. Good to hear, Anon. Sorry about the twit ref.

I'm no big defender of the boys from Moyock. Early on Prince encouraged the cowboy Soldier of Fortune image because it added to the mystique and helped promote the company. Once the cowboy image became a liability he tried to backpedal and portray BW as a legitimate cog in the national defense wheel, but the label was already hung around his neck. Perception is reality, and in this case people largely saw what they wanted to see and projected their ideas about all they perceived as wrong about Iraq onto the contractors. That's probably a tad unfair.

I'd love to stay and spar some more, but it's pretty outside so I'm going to go bust up some clay birds. Ya'll let me know when you've figured it all out.

  9. "Don't Ask, Don't Tell...Or My Constituents Will Kill Me"

I am shocked that all you folks automatically assume that the gentleman was up to anything more than giving the other gentleman a ride. And you also assume that one or both is gay because they were in a gay club.

Tsk, tsk, you know what happens when you assume.
