A wee-weed up President Obama tells Matt Lauer this morning he wants to know "whose ass to kick" over the Gulf spill:
"I was down there a month ago before most of these talking heads were even paying attention to the Gulf. A month ago, I was meeting with fishermen down there, standing in the rain...we talk to these folks because they potentially had the best answers, so I know whose ass to kick."
A month ago? Brian Williams starts the clip off by stating that June 8th will mark the 50th day of the Gulf spill:

And why is Obama relying on fishermen, as opposed to structural engineers, geologists and emergency response experts for answers to a deep water oil drill disaster?
The President is getting defensive. It is times like this when we are painfully reminded that executive experience - and character - matters.
"...before most of these talking heads were even paying attention..."
ReplyDeleteSo according to the Talking Head in Chief, it's the talking heads who are delinquent in engaging on this topic. Okay, fine, let's spot you on that one. So what?
And I really love the "...standing in the rain..." comment. Oh how this poor man has suffered in the service of the nation of which his wife recently became proud.
If you want to know whose asses to kick, walk over to the Hill and kick all those who told the oil companies they had to drill in deep water when there are far less dangerous places to drill. While you're at it, kick 'em all again for their role in the subprime mortgage madness. They're pretty much the same asses.
There's a good article on Pajamas (http://pajamasmedia.com/victordavishanson/our-1979/) about Obama's similarity to Jimmy Carter. The parallels are striking. According to the author, Obama's appeasement policy has resulted in American weakness and a World gone mad. The danger lies in Obaba trying to regain lost influence. He deosn't have the experience, he doesn't have the character, he doesn't have a clear understanding of power politics and the way the World works. He is inept and incompetent and therefore the most dangerous man in the World.
