By popular request (ok, Hammer's request) we'll institute a new regular feature, and that is the Monday Sports Roundup. Use the comments section here to unabashedly pull for your team, to bitch about them, or to discuss some other cosmic injustice in the sports world.
You've legitimized Hammer, nice going.
ReplyDeleteThe Hammer's a stalwart here. Yes, occasionally he's over the top--but he also puts out some of the better commentary I see here on the blog.
ReplyDeleteAdditionally, he's a fantastic presence on the radio show.
Finally, I kinda like the idea. Sorry to disappoint you, Yammer.
Why thank you CW for your kind remarks (by the way, the check's in the mail).
ReplyDeleteAs for you "Yammer", I grown to appreciate you in a emotionally retarded, wanker sort of way.
Ok, enough. On to the sports...
ReplyDeleteHow do you Eagles fans feel about Mr. Vick?
ReplyDeleteCa-ca-ca-can Eagles fa-fa-fa-fans actually read?
ReplyDeleteWell on to sports. The wheels are about to roll off UNC's wagon. The N&O sycophants are laying low and the only columnists worth his salt, Carlton Tutor (UNC Class '22) has turned on 'em. Plus, Bill Friday, ex-Prez of the UNC system and the Grand Poobah of education in NC (and genuinely a good guy, NCSU '46) is complaining about the money in college sports.
ReplyDeletePoint being, Carolina wants to hold on through the season at least. Changing coaches three games in would magnify the problem exponentially. So, they'd like to hang on and come Jan. or Feb clean house in the middle of basketball season. It's our mission to keep this from happening and right now things are going our way.
By the way, State 3-0, Heels 0-2.
ACC, who cares?
ReplyDeleteFine, Ohio State run up the score on Ohio University Saturday. The bastards were passing, in the Horseshoe, with a 30+ point lead, late in the third quarter.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bunch of pricks!
At least they didn't lose to a crappy team. Not many in the ACC can say that.
ReplyDeleteHammer, Upon closer review of your photo, the umpire rules it unsportsmanlike conduct.
ReplyDeleteThe Redskins improved just enough to lose in a more spectacular fashion with a new QB and Head Coach. You did not REALLY think they would start 2 and 0 did you?
ReplyDeleteFavre continues to disappoint.
CW id did not realize that Hog Neck GC was so close to your Colonial holdings there on the shore. A nice track where BigFred once flirted with posting a score for 18 that started with a "7" instead of the usual "9" but it was not to be.
S-s-say wha-what you wa-wa-want about Ha-ha-hammer, his i-i-idea is sh-sh-sh-sure raising partici-p-p-pation!
ReplyDeleteHow about on Tuesdays we have a recipe exchange?
ReplyDeleteHere's a prediction: This is the last year Tony Romo will be the Cowboys' starting QB.
