    I second Fred's votes, plus...

    Japan, the future of nuclear power, and the demand for oil.

    What could an LCS have done for Libya or Japan, besides run out of fuel? The need for a U.S. fleet of exceptional multi-mission surface combatants, not lightly armed (but not armored) jet skis.
