When federal agencies continue to hire $170K Equal Opportunity Compliance Officers, there is clearly not a sense of cutting the budget in DC. There is a sense of making sure the water's deep enough for fellow bureaucrats.
Hey, that's what Michelle Obama did for the U. of Chicago Hospitals. She was the "diversity" coordinator at 370k a year. When she left this vitally important position they didn't bother to replace her, eh... due to the fact she did such a fantastic job (I guess).
Again, if I was empowered to immediately improve the quality (and cost) of government, my first two acts would be to shut down the government unions and close the EO offices. Might even be my only two acts--i.e. improve quality/cost accomplished.
