About the Trump endorsement; overall, I'm a little wary of it. But it is probably better to have him on your side than to be making noise as a potential third party guy.
As for the Obama decision on birth control, I am certain Mitt will take this on. Certain.
The dearest issue to a liberal's heart, bar none, is the abortion issue. Free abortion on demand is central to their utopian world view. As we've seen this week, a private health charity decided their limited resources could be used more effectively elsewhere, rather than by an abortion mill that just happens to do breast exams (not mammograms mind you).
You would have thought Armageddon was upon us. The left went thermonuclear deploying their media lackeys, politicians and opinion makers to attack and defame a fairly well run cancer charity. It was a vile, disgusting display of political bullying, a media Kristallnacht, but sadly not at all unexpected.
I am not necessarily opposed to abortion. However I believe Roe v Wade is bad law of the worst sort. It is legislation from the bench with no Constitutional validity whatsoever. This is a States Rights issue. If the 9th. and 10th. Amendments mean anything (and they don't to liberals), it would be impossible to hold any other view.
My broader point is this, from a political perspective abortion is a Godsend. Attack it, not in the media where we usually lose, but legislatively. This is the left's soft underbelly. Attack the funding again and again and again. They have proven they will give up anything to protect abortionists so use this issue on the grounds of fiscal responsibility (i.e. I would love to fund that but we just can't afford it). It will distract the left from their economy wrecking spending spree, and if we're lucky and play it right, pay political dividends as well.
What are your thoughts about Romney accepting the Trump endorsement? We think it is sad.
ReplyDeleteI want to see Mitt take on Obama's decision to require Catholic institution's health plans to cover birth control.
