You heard right, sandwiches have been declared racist by a Portland area school principal, a Ms. Verenice Gutierrez. One of the many "wise latinas" our country has shamefully exploited for eons, Principal Gutierrez asked the burning question most educators are too afraid to ask: "What about Somali or Hispanic students who might not eat sandwiches?". She courageously singled out the flagrantly provocative PB&J for its inherent cultural insensitivity and bias. Clearly she has a keen eye for the subtleties of pre-adolescent culinary preferences as it relates to "white privilege". We're so lucky to have a person like this teaching our children.
Well, Hammer, even you have to admit, there does seem to be a prevalence of white bread in the school sandwich world. I mean, pumpernickle and rye just don't seem to get their due in lunchboxes or cafeteria lines. So, of course this causes children to grow up with racist agendas.
ReplyDeleteTo Ms. Guitierrez, a grande gracias! Any chance you could go on strike for the whole year? Sort of a Portland-Chicago Solidarity Strike?
C'mon Ms G, do it for los niños. Because, after all, los niños son nuestro futuro. Idiot.
It does not matter any longer. We are finished as a nation.
ReplyDeleteI had a racist dinner this evening and didn't even know it. . . .
