Oh Great California, Save Us From Ourselves...

The Golden State has banned trans-fats, Arnold be praised. As someone who may soon be making monthly trips to California, I am particularly grateful that I will no longer be exposed to the evils of these molecular killers.

Each time we let the government takes something away, we become less worthy of the freedom we have.

I have to say that I don't mind this one. It is like the ban on smoking in restaurants. Where's the connection? I find it almost as bothersome having to look at large folks in ill-fitting clothing (a trend that has achieved public acceptance or at least apathy) as I did having to inhale second hand smoke in restaurants before the enlightened ban. And then there is the sense of forboding I get when boarding an aircraft that my seatmate is going to be more rotund than I can bear. Let's call those examples "second hand fat." I should have to deal with second hand fat.

Correction: I should NOT have to deal with second hand fat.

and all this time I thought "trans-fat" was what they used to describe rosie o'donnel when she went through that bull dyke stage.
