Big Fat Friday Free-For All

Last Friday: 181.4
Today: 180.2

Time again for "Big Fat Friday Free For All", your chance to sound off. What's on your mind? Lots going on out there--health care, cap and trade, Joe Biden's malapropisms, Robert Thorn's parody posts....

What are you reading? I'm reading "Plain, Honest Men: The Making of the American Constitution".

  2. This is going to sound petty and trite BUT, if you are the first car at a stop light YOU have a responsibility to go when the light turns green, not count to ten and then go. This is ESPECIALLY true if you are in the turning lane.

  3. Oh, and the last book I read was, "The Shack". Good read on a different take of the triune.

  4. Bill - what about all Bill's who run yellow/RED lights?

  5. I hate, I mean really hate Yankee drivers. In Cary, NC (contaminated area of relocated Yankees) they always, invariably, without exception get into the far right lane with the intention of going straight. There may be no cars in the middle lane, it makes no difference. Traffic can be heavy or light, it makes no difference. They are completely oblivious to the fact that there is "turn on red" so maybe, just maybe they should stay out of that lane so as to facilitate the efficient flow of traffic. BUT NOOOOOO! It's their right and by God in Heaven they're going to exercise it!
Where's Stonewall Jackson when you need him? He was so good at dealing with these kind of people.

  6. Greg. Having spent most of my life in the South, I'd argue the drivers of which you speak hail from the below the M-D line. That said, I hate those sorts of drivers, too.

  7. Dipshit drivers know no geographical boundaries. You find them in every state and in every country.

  8. Okay, this isn't as deep a topic as lousy drivers, most of whom reside in CW's adopted home state, but here goes. This from the LA Times report of today's resurgence of unrest in Tehran:

"As hard-liners repeated their signature cries of "Death to America" and "Death to Israel," riled-up Mousavi supporters overpowered them with chants of "Death to Russia" and "Death to China," the Islamic Republic's powerful United Nations Security Council protectors."

To what degree do you think Iranians have been encouraged to take on their clerics/dictators after watching Sadaam Hussein overthrown next door? Of course, such a discussion would not occur in the MSM so thought I'd raise it here.

  9. Bill--it isn't trite. It is annoying.

Most surprising is how OFTEN it happens.

  12. Robert Thorn: Mitch Daniels, the Governor of Indiana, should be surfacing on that list at some point. He's worth keeping an eye on.

Otherwise it's the same old recycled names.
