In which I beseech my readers to lay off the Hitler comparisons....

Nicely said for the most part.

Much as I think the media outlet is deeply flawed and should be classified as entertainment rather than "news," I don't, however, agree that bringing up FoxNews (or MSNBC News, CNN, Olbermann's show, the Daily Show, whatever your poison), is similarly ridiculous in its offensiveness as pushing the nuclear button by invoking Hitler or Nazi comparisons. Much as I hate to come to FoxNews' defense, it's not a comparable reductio ad-anything. I think the video could stand well without that point, which weakens and in a way counters what I think is a very honorable message that should apply to all parties in any discussion.

    BTE, looking sharp, CW!

  2. GHP--I tried to backpedal from that one, unsuccessfully. It isn't in the same league as the Nazi thing--but it is intellectually lazy nonetheless.

  7. Not into this one. Calling someone a NAZI is boring and talking about someone calling someone a NAZI is boring. Let's talk about how Obama is ruining the economy or how Maureen Dowd sleeps with her sources or anything but NAZIs. By the way Inglourious Basterds is gettin' really good reviews and if you don't like it you're just like Hitler.

  8. Would pointing out many of the similarities between President Obama's agenda and that of the National Socialist German Workers' Party be the same as calling him a Nazi?

GHD--your boredom is of little concern to me. That's what your mouse click button is for--to take you to whatever sites it is that "excite" you.

  10. CW that's a very rude comment. I have feelings too you know. You're obviously a blog-NAZI and I'm telling.
