More Execrable Bunk From Justice

Firstly, good news here of the upcoming guilty plea of Najibullah Zazi on all counts of terrorism with which he was charged.

Yet the ongoing attempt by the Holder Justice Department to point to cases in which terrorists are successfully prosecuted/handled by the civilian court system simply defies logic. The underwear bomber was not a citizen or resident of the US. He had not passed through customs. Mirandizing him and offering the protections of our system was a dumb move and continuing to shroud it in legitimacy through the rear-view mirror of cases like the Zazi case is ridiculous.

Zazi was a legal resident of the US and had been since 1999. He was living and working in the US when his trail was picked up. That he was treated with in the civilian justice system makes a heck of a lot more sense than doing so with the Underwear Bomber, and continuing to compare these situations simply amplifies the charge of the Obama Administration's softness on terrorism and their inability to treat it as a national security threat.

  1. Keep in mind that nearly every breathing and thinking, well, breathing organism in this Administration (Secretary Gates excluded) is of the St. Robin (Hood) Church of (Taking and) Giving. Whether that means giving tax "refunds" to people who never "funded" taxes in the first place or providing "free" medical coverage to people whose first deliberate act on American soil is to violate our immigration laws or, to give foreigners who attempt to kill us and our families on Christmas day all the protections guaranteed to United States Citizens, it's all the same thing. There should be no surprise that when we elect people from that ideological segment of our society we get what we voted for (even if WE didn't vote for them).

  2. Defies logic? Yes, I suppose it defies my logic, but seems supremely within the ideology of the current apologists. The administration sees war and terrorism as parts of the criminal spectrum. Combatants are just really bad criminals who have found employment in a life of crime. They would say the same about our own soldiers.

The fact that Holder cannot differentiate between a legal US National and a foreign combatant is wholly within his world view.
