Big Fat Friday Free For All

"Fat Leonard" of the ongoing US Navy Scandal
Aw, what's got you down this week?  Your team lose their best player?  Your team lose to the team who lost their best player?  Share friends, bitch.  Get it out of your system.

Weighed in at 183 today, down 15.8 since just after Christmas and down .4 since just before my operation.

  1. Please explain this "Fat Leonard" thing in detail. Try to use as few acronyms as possible because FYI I was not in the USN therefore I know jackshit about the NAC, NAEC, NAPS or for that matter NASA from NASCAR (well almost).
Now get off your ass and do something useful CW. An ex USAREUR STRATCOM-EUR guy awaits enlightenment.

  2. Classic case of bribes and graft, with some intelligence and national security stuff thrown in. Fat Leonard essentially ran a logistics business, one that among other things, takes care of our ships in various ports across Asia. His company has sole support duties in certain ports, other companies have sole support duties in other ports. So, his game was to impact 1) the decisions on where ships would go, so payoffs to the folks in Fleet scheduling was required and 2) the experience of the ships that went to his ports, so that on the way BACK and in the future, they would request to go BACK to those ports where he had exclusive support contracts. Lavish parties, hookers, gifts, etc., were the stock in trade of this influence campaign. How's that for an explanation?

  3. That's pretty good. So top Navy brass was partying down with booze and broads at Leonard's expense?
Is this a common, long existent practice or some recent bit of corruption?
