I am pleased to announce the addition of NavyAustin to our team of bloggers here on the CW. I've known NavyAustin for over 22 years, and he brings a wealth of experience, wisdom, intelligence and erudition to our site. I look forward to his initial posting in the days to come.
I guess I'm in-friggin'-visible here. Jesus, I am a major contributor here with unparalleled wit and insight. I say things you are thinking but will only whisper to yourself in the dead of night.
ReplyDeleteAnd what is this Austin stuff? You know only queers and steers come from Texas so this guy better have horns or you're opening yourself up to a "security" re-evaluation. No more Pentagon badge.
What a bunch of wankers. I hope the windows fall out of that God-damned Jag!
Hammer, NavyAustin has firm grip on reality. On occasion your posts, well...
ReplyDeleteMaybe so but I haven't missed my Thorazine in months, you know since that trumped up cow molestation thing.
ReplyDeleteHammer--the plain truth of the matter is I LOVE your part in this blog. I just can't trust you as far as I can throw you. One day you'll write something that is simply amazing--deep, literate, insightful--often very controversial. Next day, it's some over the top ridiculousness that you know damn well I'm gonna delete. If I had ANY confidence that you could be consistent, I'd ask you in in a heartbeat. Don't be sad though--I have a brother who takes great offense that I won't let him be a contributor for the same reasons.

ReplyDeleteGood grief. And CW was concerned about declining readership now?

ReplyDeleteI cite an earlier post about "The Hammer."
ReplyDeleteHe's the uncle we all had that brought his own lawn chair to the summer family reunion, set it in the same place, drank his 12-14 beers, generally talked loudly then dozed off, and most of us nephews and nieces kept our distance after being warned by Mom.
But if "Uncle Hammer" didn't show-up at the summer family reunion, it wouldn't be the same.
BTW, welcome Navy Austin.
I am thinking of changing my name to Army Madison.
Dan you might have to keep the old lady away from me but the kids would be ok. Actually kids and dogs absolutely adore me, it's the babes who hate me (unless they're dumb floozies, they love me too).
ReplyDeleteNow, to address your comments CW. To thine own self be true. I freely admit I can't be trusted and I would be an inappropriate, and much regretted choice for access to the liquor cabinet. We all have our character flaws, mine are I'm usually right. The other is I annoy people for fun. Oh well.
Oh yeah, John Wooden died today. He was a great man and I don't say that lightly. He had the gift of showing young guys the wisdom of doing the right thing. Not out of altruism, or peer pressure or societal retribution, but because it was the smart play. RIP.
Erudition! Good work! That is FAR too under-utilized a word. Welcome NavyAustin.
ReplyDeleteYou guys give way too much credit to The Spammer.
