As you may know, Republicans are either crazy, stupid or evil. And of course there are subsets of the above categories. For example, advocating freedom is a subset of stupid. Identifying with the Tea Party is a subset of stupid and evil. Being deeply religious is a subset of all three. See how it works?
I have to say I disagree with Sally. I don't deny that Michelle Bachmann is an "idiot", being of course a subset of stupid. But I take issue with her assertion that it is the reason for her downfall. Crazy is the clear winner here and even a cursory analysis of Bachmann's media coverage would lead one to this conclusion. So, can we all agree she is crazy, not stupid.
I'm sorry Sally but I felt compelled to point this out.

Knock it off, Hammer. I realize you're among the remaining one dozen people still supporting her, but she's behaving like an idiot whining about media bias because of the number of questions she's getting at a debate.
The fact that media coverage of her has been unkind and unfair does not change this fact.
Hey! Can't we all just, you know, get along?
I wouldn't say I'm a supporter Sally, but I do like her views. And she has a good personal story as well.
But let's look at it from her point of view. She's watched as the msm destroyed Sarah Palin's political career. She's seen what they're trying to do to Herman Cain and she's seen the way they came after her and damaged her campaign. I think she can be forgiven a little over-reaction.
The issue here is the way the msm goes after anyone in the Republican Party that is not a white male. I wonder why that is?
You think the press has been kind to Perry? Newt? I don't.
But you do bring up an interesting point. We've never seen press savagery to the degree we saw with Palin. But she took her whining about media treatment too far, when in fact she was starting to do and say many things that deserved our scorn. Bachmann was handling things far better than Palin did, but this (already forgotten about) incident doesn't work to her favor. She's hovering at Huntsman-like numbers, of course she's not going to be engaged as much at these debates. That's not shoddy treatment by the media.
No, I don't think the press has been kind to any Republican. I think they have been kind to Democrats, for say oh, the past 80 years.
Also I don't look at Bachmann as whining. I wish somebody would take it to the media. Attack them! Call them out on their bias! Draw attention to their overt partisan campaigning! It's good policy and it's good politics. I don't think it's a coincidence Newt's number have improved dramatically after he rained hell down on those unqualified halfwit "reporters" in the debates.
Also, what was a (perhaps the) defining moment for George H.W. Bush in 1988? It was when he rhetorically slapped Dan Rather around like a jailhouse punk. That locked up the conservative base for him.
