Instapundit on a Reasonable Tax Increase
"SO OBAMA’S PEOPLE ARE TALKING TAX INCREASES AGAIN. Here’s my proposal: A 50% surtax on anything earned within five years after leaving the federal government, above whatever the federal salary was. Leave a $150K job at the White House, take a $1M job with Goldman, Sachs, pay a $425K surtax. Some House Republican should add this to a bill and watch the Dems react."

We should not give one additional red cent of taxes until such time as the federal government shows us it is serious about reducing their intake (neither POTUS nor Senate have yet shown us that). Balanced budget with existing tax rates would be a good start. Then, and only then, should we agree to any increase in taxes and that increase MUST be applied to shrinking the debt. Oh yeah, and non-taxpayers ought to pay something given they are also the biggest users.
Lighten up, Francis.
This one's supposed to be funny.
The FairTax gentlemen. THAT needs to be the focus.
The FairTax, the FairTax...repeat after me... The FairTax, the FairTax!
Lighten up, Francis?
