Uh, you did notice that she led the effort that helped Obama win a second term?
Who was chairman of the RNC? Bueller? Bueller?
(seriously. I had to Google it.)
She's doing something right. I strongly disagree with both her politics and her hair, but she was the voice of the DNC and was ALL OVER tv, banging the drum and getting her message out. Whatever the question was, didn't matter. She got her message out, was a constant fixture out there leading the troops and arming them with quotable language and red meat.
On the RNC side, Reince "Quincy" Priebus called for a "full autopsy" of the 2012 campaign. Will he find any fault with his own actions over the last nearly 2 years? Was having 9 primary candidates (8 "notRomneys" and one "notObama") for so long a good idea?
I am betting that Debbie loved watching the 8 message-test negative ads against Romney. Free market research - turns out, painting him as a rich, out-of-touch, flip-flopping white guy is easy to do and the electorate eats it up!
Mr. Preibus (I have no idea how to prounounce either of his names, so little have I heard of him) may have managed the party, but did not lead it.
DWS staying on at the DNC is not good news. They have a leader. You don't like her. I get that. But what does the RNC have, other than a bunch of people saying "It's my turn, give me a chance.." ?
She is not the reason Obama won a second term. Using that logic, the reason for the Republican landslide in 2010 was attributable solely to Michael Steele. Would you really make that case?
I'm not a big fan of Priebus, and hope he is replaced in January, but he deserves a lot of credit for some unbelievable fundraising and bringing donors back that had been driven out.
The marketing crowd in Chicago deserves credit for O's win, not Debbie.
The opiate of free stuff deserves the most credit for O's win. Oh, that and O's amazingly tight campaign information team (CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, WaPost, NYT, etc).
I say the nerds won the race. There was a hack of Romney's get out the vote ap "According to the Romney campaign, a faulty app nicknamed Orca shutdown midway through Election Day, leaving volunteers on the ground in swing states, such as Florida, without any means to identifying Romney supporters." and I highly suspect Ohio and Florida were hacked as well (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4aKOhbbK9E". Call me paranoid, call me crazy (I might be both) but that don't mean I'm wrong. But I am glad Debbie is still hanging around, God she is soooo HOT!
The Blog: A compendium of thoughts on politics, world affairs, economics, pop culture and social issues, from the center right perspective of me--Bryan McGrath--a University of Virginia graduate who spent a career in the world's greatest Navy keeping my mouth shut about politics and social issues (ok, publicly keeping it shut). Those days are over! Pull up a chair and chime in where you will. Keep it clean, civil, concise and relevant.
The Fish: The fish is a "coat of arms" for the blog, symbolizing three formative influences in the life of the blog founder. The first is his experience at the University of Virginia--symbolized most importantly by the fish itself, or a caricature of a "Wahoo", the fish we have acquired as an informal nickname. Additionally there is the sword, the sword of a Cavalier. It is not wielded in a threatening manner, as this is a civil blog. But it is there, should it be needed. Thirdly, there is the influence of 21 years in the Navy--symbolized by the anchor on the Wahoo's fin (and again, the sword) . Finally, there is the bowler, tuxedo, and monocle, symbols of a refined, intellectual conservatism, or what I seek to encourage here.
The Policy: I take FULL responsibility for what I write. I will not be held responsible for the content of my comments section--as long as it is civil and passes my own inscrutable sniff tests, it will appear. If the comment offends you, that is on you.

As much as I can't stand her, and I think Priebus is actually pretty damn good.
But she did a great job. It is not good that she's still there.
