Great race last night for Michael Phelps, and thank heaven for the automated timing system and slow -motion cameras, because I can't imagine the human eye being able to see his margin of victory.
I read where he eats about 10,000 calories a day. Putting aside for a second the fact that he burns virtually all of that out with his ridiculous work-out schedule, wouldn't it be interesting to just for one day, try to eat that many calories? I wonder what that's like. Maybe I'll try it soon.

Not too hard to dupicate Phelp's calorie count:
Hardees Breakfast
Country Breakfast Burrito — 920 calories
Large Hash Browns - 460 calories
Hardees Lunch
Monster Thickburger - 1,420 calories
Large Curly Fries - 480 calories
Mikshake - 500 calories
Outback Dinner
1/2 Outback Bloomin Onion - 1150 calories
Porterhouse Steak - 1200 calories
w/ Aussie Chips - 700 calories
Add another 400-500 calories for salad and bread
That's about 7500 calories without including between meal snacks.
Child's play really, for any slob with a disablity check and a motorized scooter at Disneyworld.
anon - would that possibly cause hardeeing of the arteries too? sorry. i can normally do better than that.
The Detroit Free Press had this the other day. I may have to head to the restaurant in Ann Arbor where he ate breakfast, but I believe I will wait a few months...
How about 12,000 calories!
