Dean of Harvard Medical School Speaks Wisdom on Healthcare Reform

Greg Mankiw introduces us to the new Dean of the Harvard Medical School, who fifteen years ago (just after the wreckage of the Clinton Healthcare Fiasco (CHF)) wrote this neat little overview of the healthcare system in the US, its problems, and possible (freer market) solutions. It loads very slowly, but once it has and is read, it provides the reader with sound policy guidance on ways to improve our healthcare system.

His treatment of the basic economics of healthcare is among the more straightforward I've read.

I haven't heard of Dr. Flier before, and I'll do a little research into whether or not his views have evolved over the years. But if his views have remained consistent, it is nice to know that Ghost of Halloween Past's hallowed halls of Harvard has at least one clear-thinking policy type to help shape the healthcare debate.
