A dear friend of mine posted this editorial from Paul Krugman of the New York Times yesterday, and I wrote about it a bit over there. I decided you'd probably enjoy it more than folks over there would.

Read More commentator is adolescent and derivative. He is, for want of a better term, a political hack. I read him with interest (an often disagreement) when he speaks on the economy. I read him with bemusement when he speaks on politics.
While the tea parties are certainly emblematic of a growing sense of unrest in the Republican Party, to say that they represent the Republican Party is about as fair as saying an ANSER rally represents the Democratic Party.
And this amazing fascination with Limbaugh...it is deranged. Limbaugh is no more the voice of conservatism and or the Republican Party than Olbermann or Maher is to the Democratic Party."

Now about the Tea Parties. I think they are clearly a legitimate and important manifestation of taxpayer dissatisfaction--and I don't think they are going to go away any time soon. I paid less attention to them than I should of, but Sally attended one and talked about perhaps posting about her experience. From the media coverage I've seen, it looks a lot like Fox over-covered them and everyone else under covered them. Or worse, they got to the story late only after it was too big to ignore.
As for Krugman, he should simply be ignored.

Hmmm. Not unlike many in Hollywood who make their livings pretending to be things they aren't, Jane-ane the Actrevist currently appears to be pretending that she is also an intellectually superior being to at least 100% of conservative citizens of the United States of America. If I had only realized that people would pay me great sums of money to pretend to be something I'm not, I wouldn't have given up pretending way back in elementary school. Of course, to compete with Olbermann's apparent channeling of Beavis or Butthead with his astoundingly lame double entendres, she really had to choose a pretense of such magnitude. These are interesting people these liberals...in a clinical sort of way. One of these days I hope to actually meet Jane-ane so she can learn me about that there Boston tea party.
I will admit to not being in the same league as the CW on topics such as American History - especially during the time leading up to 7/4/1776 and 25 years after. But. contrary to what Ms. Gargoyle says I always thought the Boston tea Party did have something to do with taxes. Yes it had to do with "taxation without representation" versus paying too much in taxes and runaway spending, but it did have something to do with taxes Ms. Gargoyle!
