The top one because the emphasis - because of typeface and size - is on Conservative.
Because of the fonts used, the second one puts emphasis on Wahoo and while being a grad from Mr. Jefferson's joint is noble, it isn't what you're going for.
The third one is just boring compared to the other two with the same font used throughout.
I rank them in this order: 1st logo, third one, then the second logo.
And of course the "tat" of the anchor for the Navy. Taken with the sword (for UVa and Naval Officer) you have two of the great loves of your life covered!
Can you tell I'm bored recovering from the surgery?
You might want to add a tagline underneath the title in italics. Something like "Swimming against the currents since 2008" or "Because politics and fish smell after three days"
Just so I know in advance, in case I'm to meet you in a public place for lunch or dinner. Are you going to start wearing a derby? Just want to know whether I shoud stay in my business attire or change into something more suitable for fighting my way out of a bar.
The Blog: A compendium of thoughts on politics, world affairs, economics, pop culture and social issues, from the center right perspective of me a University of Virginia graduate who spent a career in the world's greatest Navy keeping my mouth shut about politics and social issues (ok, publicly keeping it shut). Those days are over! I've also invited a few friends to join in, so pull up a chair and chime in where you will. Keep it clean, civil, concise and relevant.
The Fish: The fish is a "coat of arms" for the blog, symbolizing three formative influences in the life of the blog founder. The first is his experience at the University of Virginia--symbolized most importantly by the fish itself, or a caricature of a "Wahoo", the fish we have acquired as an informal nickname. Additionally there is the sword, the sword of a Cavalier. It is not wielded in a threatening manner, as this is a civil blog. But it is there, should it be needed. Secondly, there is the influence of 21 years in the Navy--symbolized by the anchor on the Wahoo's fin (and again, the sword) . Finally, there is the bowler, tuxedo, and monocle, symbols of a refined, intellectual conservatism, or what I seek to encourage here.
The Policy: I take FULL responsibility ONLY for what I write. I do not take responsibility, nor will I be held responsible, for what my guest bloggers write or for what those who offer comments write. I will occasionally exercise my right to edit/delete both blog posts and comments if they do not meet my view of what clean, civil, concise and relevant mean.

Part fish part David Lloyd George. I don't get it. I would go with the Waldo thing recently posted.

Doc
Very nice. I like design/type#2
"graphic artist"? You didn't pay somebody to do this did you?
Something I missed. I do like the cutlass - or whatever type of aword it is - instead of the cane. Very nice.

I prefer the third one. Simple, straightforward. The fish gives it enough interest - no need to do it with fonts.
I disagree with Doc about the first one. My mind gives the emphasis to the words in italics. I would give emphasis equally to conservative and wahoo.
PK knows what she's talking about. Not that I have a vote but #3 looks the best.

#1
#1 Would look much better if you make all the fonts the same as used in "Conservative".
#2 is eye-catching but too much emphasis on Wahoo.
#3 I might like it more if you put "The" and "Wahoo" in italics.
So my vote is: Either #1 with all the fonts the same as you used in "Conservative" or #3 with "The" and "Wahoo" in italics.
(Sometimes I crack myself up).
#3
Still looks like a cross between "Mr. Peanut" and "The Incredible Mr. Limpett."
