David Brooks on the Elderly
David Brooks with a common-sense view, though I am not hopeful for its adoption. One stat floored me--the feds spend $7 on Seniors for every 1$ they spend on children. Yikes.

With just a little consideration of that statistic, one could come to the conclusion that children are being supported by these very same seniors.
That children require much less maintenance and associated costs than do seniors. and that the money spent on seniors is in many cases money that they contributed through one tax or another.
Another example of Government taking over the role of families. When I was a kid it wasn't uncommon for someone's Grandma to live with the family. Now Grand Dad is on the Viagra hitting on Granny at the retirement village.
So Hammer, How is that Viagra?
Is that a proposition?
