From the AP: Vice President Joe Biden asked for God's blessing for the late mother of Irish Prime Minister Brian Cowen during a White House celebration of St. Patrick's Day - except the elderly lady is still very much alive.
Alert secret service agents quickly gunned down Mrs. Cowen to save the Vice President further political embarrassment.

Maybe he figured with the pending health care legislation, if she came to the US she'd be as good as dead.
