Consorting with the Enemy

Brother Tom, settling.
This is what happens when you sire children unlikely to be offered admission at Virginia's flagship university in Charlottesville.

(Sung to the tune of John Denver's "Country Roads)

``Almost high school, Virginia Tech
Herds of cattle, good ol' boys and rednecks
Life is dull there, but we think it's fine
Got me some tobaccey, and Boone's Farm Apple Wine
All dirt roads, lead to Tech
The only place that let me in
Virginia Tech, free diplomas
All dirt roads lead to Tech''

Annoying guide with that affect to her voice in which every statement sounded like a question. Forget what her liberal arts major was but it included a concentration in social justice. For a school with a corps of cadets, they might want to tell the guides that when at the memorial to those who gave their lives in our nation's wars that one does not "win" the Medal of Honor.

But tomorrow we'll visit the UVA campus in Wise. Wednesday we will visit the UVA campus in Charlottesville.
