When does the contempt end?

On my best day, I find Nation editor Katrina Vandenheuvel impossible to stomach. But The Nation has really topped themselves this time, with another book mocking Palin in advance of her book that'll be released next month. Please note the lightning and the clever caption of the Nation's version.
Mocking her is one thing, and is a hobby to the Vandenheuvel set, but to publish an entire book?

Odd that virtually every parody of Obama akin to this is racist but there will be nary a peep of "sexist" regarding this...even from my favorite paragon of hypocrisy, NOW. Nor SHOULD there be, but it's still interesting.

We need to change the libel laws in this country. This looks like some infringement of some kind. Look at the crap that just went on with Rush Limbaugh. Oh I know the truth eventually came out but the damage was done.

Does anyone here know the current state of libel laws in America? Glad you asked, I'll tell you. Back in the early sixties the old Grey Bitch, eh Lady, printed a hit piece on Bull Connor alleging everything but the Lincoln assignation. Connor took the Times and author Harrison Salisbury to court. Well the court found that yes yes there were fabrications but Connor's reputation was such that no damage was done. In other words you can lie your New York ass off and if we don't like you, tough noogies.

Ladies and gents, this is wrong. A lie is a lie, and a lie that does damage should be actionable. This book looks like a lie in and of itself. It is meant to confuse and deceive and it shouldn't be allowed.
