It's Time to Ban this Vile Symbol of Hate!

How long are we going to put up with this flag of killers and cowards? How many innocents have to die before the international community, and I'm speaking to you European Union, forces these bigoted Irish chauvinists in Dublin to TAKE DOWN THIS FLAG! They claim it represents the good people of Ireland and the struggle against British imperialism. Bollox! It represents terror and death, EVERYBODY KNOWS THAT!

Will I remind you of the 9 people killed and 130 injured (some horribly) in the Bloody Friday bombings of 1972? Will I recount the names of the 12 dead in the coach bombing of 1974 (mostly women and children)? Or how about the 29 shoppers killed on market day in Omagh in County Tyrone in 1998? (I'll spare you a photo of the carnage, it looked like a slaughterhouse!)

Since 1969 there has been over 10,000 terrorists acts committed by people under this flag resulting in thousands of deaths! But this thing is still flying. This is an outrage and will no longer be tolerated! I urge you to boycott all things Irish until such time as they see the light. The time for hate is over.

Couldn't the flags of just about all of the European countries be replaced with the gay rainbow flag?

Possibly Tub, if these acts of terror had been committed with a bum-bag.

What about putting the U. N. Flag on the list to be torn down?

This has to be the dumbest article I've ever read. The Irish Flag represents Ireland (Green) and English Unionists (Orange) with white for peace between them. Its the symbol for the southern republic of Ireland. The terrorism your describing was in Northern Ireland and was between its own people. It wasn't between Ireland and England but Northern protestants and catholics and were the results of the unfair policies its Government enacted. Calling the Irish flag vile and evil is like calling the American flag vile and evil because of the atrocities America has inflicted on the world e.g. 2 million dead in Vietnam for no reason. Actually no, its like calling the south korean flag vile and evil for the actions of dissident north koreans. You should really educate yourself on a subject before making a public opinion otherwise you just look stupid.

HEY GUYS I GOT ONEI
You're right anon, I agree. However my point is we can take just about any national symbol and change its meaning, reposition it and generally lay it to waste. In the larger context what I'm trying to do is illustrate how the Confederate Battle flag has been maligned and slandered. It's my belief that Southerns and Southern culture have become the whipping boy of our collective national guilt when it comes to race relations.
So there you go. The piece I wrote is satire, and I thank you for playing. Now, what do we have for the young man Johnny?

Well to be fair this was the first time I was at your blog. Clicked on a link at Captain Capitalism.
As to your statement I can understand your viewpoint. I've no problem with a bit of immigration but when the immigrants start out-populating the locals and start changing the countries customs with there home countries it becomes too much of a problem. Also its funny how the ones the ones pushing for immigration the most are the ones not living close to the problems they bring. Or having their business ruined because the immigrants will only buy from one of their own.
