Dan, will be in your neighborhood the last three weeks in jan. will you be around? My wife is planning to join me for a portion of it... BUT she will be due a couple of weeks later so it might be tough... Joe
Hey Joe...I've been reading you say stuff like that. It's NOT supposed to be a balanced site. It is called "CONSERVATIVE" wahoo. I try and strike what I consider to be reasonable approach to my conservatism, but I have NO such requirements of the readers. If my site attracts a largely conservative audience, that is fine with me. I enjoy divergent views, and I enjoy the give and take. But don't be shocked or disappointed that it doesn't approach the sense of balance you might seek.
Bryan, got it... thought you did a good job of representing both sides. Actually its the first time i made such a comment and that was because Sally attacked a fellow blogger and you did nothing, whereas previously you deleted an attacker with a different target. I was not a participant on any of the entries;just an obsservation. I understand your intent and desires for YOUR site. Joe
Hillary throwing her weight behind Obama. Brian Williams raised the issue of the electoral map becoming one color and said it is beginning to raise concerns about a one party controlled nation. surprised to hear that on msnbc
The Blog: A compendium of thoughts on politics, world affairs, economics, pop culture and social issues, from the center right perspective of me--Bryan McGrath--a University of Virginia graduate who spent a career in the world's greatest Navy keeping my mouth shut about politics and social issues (ok, publicly keeping it shut). Those days are over! Pull up a chair and chime in where you will. Keep it clean, civil, concise and relevant.
The Fish: The fish is a "coat of arms" for the blog, symbolizing three formative influences in the life of the blog founder. The first is his experience at the University of Virginia--symbolized most importantly by the fish itself, or a caricature of a "Wahoo", the fish we have acquired as an informal nickname. Additionally there is the sword, the sword of a Cavalier. It is not wielded in a threatening manner, as this is a civil blog. But it is there, should it be needed. Thirdly, there is the influence of 21 years in the Navy--symbolized by the anchor on the Wahoo's fin (and again, the sword) . Finally, there is the bowler, tuxedo, and monocle, symbols of a refined, intellectual conservatism, or what I seek to encourage here.
The Policy: I take FULL responsibility for what I write. I will not be held responsible for the content of my comments section--as long as it is civil and passes my own inscrutable sniff tests, it will appear. If the comment offends you, that is on you.

McCain's sarcasm is weak.

Did McCain just rent a new mouth tonight? Seems like he can't spit the words out.

Obama wins this one and the election.

Stephanopolous says this was McCain's best debate.
hi Sally ;)
MSNBC giving McCain fight points, giving Obama caution points
Watching Diane Sawyer; she's not young....but she is very attractive.
MSNBC liked the "I'm not George Bush."
I've always had a weird crush on Judy Woodruff.
chuck todd said mccain spoke to his base whereas obama sought the center
Well, I think McCain did better than he has in any other debate.
But Obama looked and sounded Presidential. Throughout.
Game, set, match....Obama.

night y'all. Going to fill-up my gas tank and bathtub with our $2.39 a gallon gas.
Gergen said McCain started off well but swerved off track in the last 30 minutes. Especially concerned about McCains attempts at anger suppression.
JPH, when is PCC out here?

Sorry JPH-there were a few snarky comments from anonymous tonight
I'm on PBS-they all think Obama was cool as a cucumber and therefore won.
