FREE FOR ALL......WEDNESDAY?

Folks--things are pretty busy in CW-land (well, not really in CW land, but in the land that makes up a good portion of the time CW is not blogging), and today could be tough to get to the news. Why don't you use this thread to raise subjects you want to talk about, provided links to those cool things you send me in email, or ask a question or two of me or other readers.

Here's one for you: I'm thinking about starting to post short videos on Youtube, 90 second commentaries or such. What do you think?

I like your idea, but would you be able to juggle all three (CW world, blog, videocast)?

what do you think about the Navy & USCG catching all these drug subs lately? I assume its at least good practice ?

Can't wait for the Utube clips. Will you be featuring guests? I want to see you mix it up with the Clambake wife debating Obama's tax policies.

GG--good question.

Gigs--those subs/semisubmersibles are usually gotten by helos operating off the ships. Don't think we're tracking 'em acoustically. Crafty devils, those druggies, huh?

If Barry O's coronation day is met with freezing temperatures, does that give Republicans the right to ask, "What global warming"?

Or does it give Democrats the right to say, "See, the earth is already starting to heal itself".

No troop reductions in 2009. We may have a few Brigade Combat Teams pull out of Iraq, but we will still need the Combat Support and Combat Service Support (read, logisticians, communicators, military police, etc). The tooth will be gone, but the substantial tail will remain -- at the request of the Iraqis, by the way.
The few Brigade Combat Teams that move out of Iraq will go into Afghanistan, thus a zero sum for overall troop deployments. Except that the logistical requirements to support the additional Brigade Combat Teams in Afghanistan are significantly more than Iraq. There is little KBR presence in Afghanistan since the Army and Marines operate out of disparate outposts -- each with their own sustainment requirements using organic capabilities. You will see an increase in troop numbers because of this. It will be interesting to see how the new administration handles this.

I got to tell you, what I've been missing in my day is live McGrath video.

Shall we interpret this venture into youtube as the launch of a CW political venture?
