Sarah Palin and Our North Korean Friends

You all know I'm not a huge fan of Sarah Palin as a political figure, but her response to the media's coverage of her gaffe on the Korean situation is priceless.  Read it here.

Re Korean unification. Do you think South Koreans are REALLY eager to absorb 24 million of their abjectly poor and uncivilized northern cousins into their society and economy? Granted, if they are looking for a vast reservoir of extraordinarily cheap labor, it may work out but if they are at all like westerners, they'll get all wrapped around wealth gaps and the like. Or, I suppose, if they want to use the North Korean military to keep the first wave of the Chinese at bay, maybe that would work out, but it would still be akin to us accepting Mexico as a state. The main difference being that most of the Mexican population is already in our society.

Korea will always be a problem until we get away from the mindset 'what's yours is yours and what's ours is negotiable'. The South Koreans should be the one's provoking the North Koreans. Lob a few shells over, sink a few ships, call a meeting and bring a bucket of chicken and eat it in front of the "diplomats" as they watch and drool. Have a little fun jerking the chain of Dear Leader.
