I love these little dust-ups among Ivy League economics professors (one of whom is a Nobel Laureate--ooh, ah).
Mankiw is always cold, meticulous, fact based. Krugman is emotional, over the top, and intellectually dishonest.
Mankiw--a former member of the Bush Administration--strives to be non-ideological. Krugman cannot help it.
