A Reason Take-down on Obama's Plan to "make college affordable for everyone"

Here's a great little video that captures some of the things I've been saying here about throwing more money into higher education. Of note are the comments of Charles Murray, a national asset.

Danny Noonan: I planned to go to law school after I graduated. It didn't look like my folks would have enough money to put me through college, but the President's new education policy at least six years at State U is guaranteed!

Judge Smails: But, the world needs ditch diggers, too.

Lacey Underall: [to Judge Smails] Nice try.

This is more about paying off the big education elites than making college accessible. Are you kidding? Anybody can go to college in the US.
One of the problems, and we have many, is that too many people think they have to go to college. We need top notch technical education at the secondary level. Plumbers, machinists, electricians etc. make great wages, are in high demand and we could have them trained right out of high school. Plus we could have work study and the poorer kids could make a few bucks, maybe not take the wrong path. Maybe they would see a way out rather than crime. It wouldn't cost any more and besides, do we really need more lawyers?
