Big Fat Friday Free For All

Well, what's got your goat this week?  I know the Hammer's pissed at me (for a 30 second banishment from the Radio Show Chat Room--after an uninterrupted string of 27 lines of intellectual Turrette's inspired iambic pentameter), so I've got that to deal with.  But YOU, faithful reader, what's on YOUR mind?

We began a 7 month renovation here on the Kitten's house this week--a little later today, I hope to post the first of what I plan as a weekly (or so) photo montage of the progress of things.

I haven't gone anywhere.

I would like to talk about the 14th. Amendment and the cancer of judicial activism. The citizenship clause, as interpreted by jurists like William Brennan is under attack, and justifiably so. The question is, does it say what that pipsqueak little Irish son of a bog drinking whore say it does?

Well no actually. First some background. This amendment was written during Reconstruction. Now many of our Yankee friends know very little about this period in our history for the same reason they choose not to remember shoplifting as a teenager. It's unpleasant to do so. So allow me to enlighten you.

The 14th. Amendment was written to knock down Dred Scott and guarantee citizenship to freed slaves. At the time the military occupation authorities thought it would be a hoot to fill Southern State Houses with newly freed slaves and they didn't want any eligibility issues to get in the way. They did not intent to provide citizenship to anyone under any circumstances so long as some sow managed to squeeze out her spawn in a ditch in West Texas.

A system like we have now is untenable. It is the greatest threat to our liberty perhaps in the history of this great nation. Americans are the most generous tolerant people on the planet and voluntarily share their wealth with the less fortunate. But nobody likes being taken advantage of. Liberal/leftist judicial activists are forcing us to be charitable towards those who neither deserve nor need our charity (e.g. rich Turks on pregnancy holidays in NY). Just because a dog was born in a stable doesn't make him a horse and just because a child is born on American soil in no way should impart citizenship.

Hold it right there buster. Don't be trying to get on my good side. If it wasn't for the fact you've have a few challenges lately and you're probably on your last God-damned nerve, I'd put you ass on the AARP mailing list so fast it would make your head spin.
There's a rule here: don't -uck with The Hammer.
