Urban Hipsters Vs. Young Parents

Read this story and then try to decide who is more loathsome--the parents with the SUV sized strollers or the hipsters who complain about them.

Surely this is a race to the bottom.

I love watching the entitlement generation eat itself.

Are conservatives who live out in the country with their big SUVs because the "can" and "want" to, any LESS a part of the entitlement generation?

I loath the SUV strollers and I'm most definitely NOT a hipster. The mentality is the same between these parents, suburban conservatives with their monster vehicles and *many* fat people. They impose their choices on the rest of us in public spaces. I want something big and unwieldy (either through conspicuous consumption, a wanton ignorance of the externalities, or because they have no snacking/exercise discipline) and the rest of us have to maneuver around their increase footprint/volume.

THAT's what chap's my ass.

This appears to be less a case of internecine feuding among the broader based entitlement class and more of a disagreement between the urban hipsters with children versus the urban hipsters without children. I'll agree that it is fun to watch.

Krishna H. Vishnu, a happy hour for kids? I'm a horrible drunk and I would never stoop so low as to drag a baby into a bar. DC people are scum, almost as bad as Philly.

Don't sell yourself so short, you're pretty good at being scum.

But how dare you say that new parents have to change their lifestyles because they had a child? Are we to live in a shariah-like society that disapproves of parents with newborns imbibing at the local watering hole? This is how parents lose touch with with what is currently in fashion. They are relegated to their homes unable to share in the bon homie offered by their peers who have yet to choose to procreate.
