From Friday's Free For All, Goldwater's Ghost weighs in with a possibility:
"There is lots of speculation as to the meaning of Joe Biden's cryptic message to Obama supporters at a fundraiser a few weeks ago.
The gist of his rample went something like this - "Mark my words, it will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy...I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate. And he's gonna need help. And the kind of help he's gonna need is, he's gonna need you - not financially to help him -we're gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it's not gonna be apparent initially, it's not gonna be apparent that we're right."
As Joe is privvy to some pretty sensitive state information, do you think he was referring to a specific event on the immediate horizon? What do you suppose it might be?
Some conservative commentators have opined that it might be a controversial shift in current policy - something to the effect of a unilateral disbanding of our nuclear arsenal or the immediate draw down of troops from Iraq.
But I think Joe may be referring to something antithetical to Obama's position of using diplomacy as weapon of choice in foreign policy. I think this may play out in one of two ways: 1) we strike Iran's nuclear facilities, either direct military action or coordinated effort with Israel; or, 2) we send troops into Sudan."

Sudan. There is no solution there. They may or may not a be a power sharing solution in Iraq, but there is NO solution in Sudan. Why do you think thus far there has been no boots on the ground in Africa? Because it is unwinnable.
